Rawicz (ra-vee-ch) is the artist’s family coat of
arms dating back to 1003 and brand name for a line of hand-made, one-of-a-kind,
signed, numbered and dated pet products. The pet palaces are intended for the smallest of human
companions (comfortable for pets up to 18 pounds). They are made from semiprecious
stone, Swarovski crystals, solid exotic wood and veneers. Chihuahuas, Papillons, Pomeranians, Toy
Poodles, Yorkshire Terriers, Dachshunds, and other small breeds would enjoy a
nap in this gorgeous work of art.
Marek Kurowski , the artist, is a
jeweler and a European master craftsman trained over 40 years ago in historical
restoration and design and manufacturing of architectural woodwork, custom
cabinetry and furniture. His work has been featured in Architectural Digest and
other professional publications. He is combining his love of wood and jewelry
to create these exquisite works of art. He believes that anyone with a small
four legged member in their family would love to own a Rawicz.
The concept of Rawicz Pet Palaces began in May, 2013, with the artist’s desire to create a unique product to fill his need to have something enjoyable to do in his retirement years. After nearly twelve months of research, he created the very first pet palace, which was donated to a local Humane Society Barkitecture auction. This auction brought the largest single donation and met approval and admiration. This gave the artist encouragement to further explore available materials and opportunities. The artist does not have an interest to mass produce his products.
